Vave said "Curaçao" and nothing else — no licence number at all — and it is not in the regulator's register. We had it at 8.5. That score was resting on a word.

There was never a number to check

Vave is operated by TechOptions Group B.V. The licence field on this page previously read, in full, "Curaçao". No licence number, no issuing decision, nothing that can be looked up.

We checked the company against the Curaçao Gaming Authority's register of online gaming licences dated 6 August 2026, which lists 660 licences: TechOptions Group B.V. does not appear. It is not in the enforcement register of 10 July 2026 either, so nothing has been revoked — there is simply no licence we can find.

This is worth separating from the other cases on this site. Some operators publish a number that turns out to be a company registration rather than a licence; that is a misleading claim. Vave published no number at all, which is an unverifiable claim from the start — and one that a reader has no way of testing.

The conduct record is middling, and clean where it counts

Casino.guru gives Vave a safety index of 7.2 out of 10, with 20 resolved, 46 rejected and zero unresolved out of 66.

Twenty complaints resolved in the player's favour is a real number and better than several sites rated above it elsewhere, and no dispute has ended with the operator walking away. The 7.2 reflects other things the index weighs — terms quality and restrictions — rather than a payout problem.

The product

Vave runs casino and sportsbook on one balance, with slots, live dealer tables and a decent football offering, and it takes both crypto and traditional currencies. It is a competent product; that is not what the score is about.

Why 5.5, down from 8.5

We start from the independent 7.2 and take off for a licence claim that consists of a country name. Zero unresolved complaints is why it is not lower. Because this lands below 6, the page now carries a caution and the casino is no longer marked as recommended.

If Vave publishes a licence number that resolves in the CGA register, we will re-check and raise this. Until then, deposit only what you would be content to lose entirely and read responsible gambling first.
