Why Banker, every time

The drawing rules give Banker a small structural advantage — it acts last and therefore with more information. That produces the standard eight-deck figures: Banker 1.06% house edge, Player 1.24%, Tie around 14.4%.

Banker’s advantage is why the casino charges a commission on it, typically 5% of the win. Players see the commission and switch to Player to avoid it, which is precisely backwards: the 1.06% figure is already after the commission. Avoiding the fee costs you more than the fee.

BGaming publishes no RTP for this title and in a table game it does not need to, because the rules are the return. Those numbers hold for any fairly dealt eight-deck baccarat, whoever built it.

The tie bet

It pays 8:1. A fair payout would be about 9.5:1. That difference is a house edge near fourteen percent — more than thirteen times what you pay betting Banker, on the same hand, at the same table, decided by the same cards.

It is the single most expensive common bet in this catalogue, and it is placed most often by people who have just watched two ties in a row and concluded something is happening.

Is it rigged?

The shoe comes from a generator tested by independent laboratories before BGaming can supply an operator. There are no player decisions to manipulate: the third-card rules are automatic and identical for everyone.
