Cloudbet opened in 2013, which makes it the oldest crypto casino still operating under the same brand. In an industry where most sites are three years old, that is the single most useful fact about it — and it is not the reason we scored it where we did.
The licence, and the part other reviews leave out
Cloudbet's footer states that the site "is operated by Halcyon Super Holdings B.V.", a Curaçao company registered at Abraham Mendez Chumaceiro Boulevard 03 in Willemstad, under licence OGL/2024/328/0599 from the Curaçao Gaming Authority.
We checked that against the CGA's own licence register, the PDF the regulator publishes and last updated on 6 August 2026. The entry is real: OGL/2024/328/0599, Halcyon Super Holdings B.V., B2C, company registration 148526. That already puts Cloudbet ahead of most of its competitors, several of which quote a Willemstad company number as if it were a licence.
But the same register says the licence was issued on 23 November 2025, expired on 23 May 2026, and its status is "Assessment in progress". In plain terms: it is in renewal, not freshly granted. That is common under Curaçao's new framework, which replaced the old master/sub-licence system when the last master licence lapsed on 31 January 2025, and the regulator lets operators keep trading while it assesses. It is not an accusation. It is a fact you should know, and it is why this review does not simply say "licensed in Curaçao" and move on.
The complaint record is the best in this comparison
Licences describe intent. Complaints describe behaviour, and behaviour is what decides whether you get paid. The independent database at Casino.guru has processed 37 complaints about Cloudbet: 10 resolved, 27 rejected, and zero unresolved. It rates the site's Safety Index 9.2 out of 10, in its "Very high" band.
For scale, in the same database Rollbit carries 42 unresolved complaints, Thunderpick 11 and 1xBit 10. A twelve-year-old operator with nothing outstanding is the strongest payout signal available without having a withdrawal of your own to test.
Games and coins
Casino.guru counts 111 game providers at Cloudbet, the largest supplier list of any site we compared. Beyond slots there is a full live-dealer floor, blackjack, roulette, baccarat and a sportsbook that has been part of the product since the beginning rather than bolted on later.
The eight cryptocurrencies Cloudbet names on its own site are Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDC, USDT, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash and XRP. It also advertises "30+ more" without listing them, so we are not going to repeat a number we cannot check. If a specific coin matters to you, confirm it in the cashier before you fund an account.
The bonus, and why we are not quoting a headline figure
Cloudbet advertises a first-deposit reward of up to $2,500. We are not printing that as a recommendation, because the site does not publish the wagering requirement next to it, and the requirement is the part that decides whether an offer is worth taking. Ask support for the multiplier in writing before you deposit for a bonus. A 100% match at 40x is worth less than no bonus at all; the same match at 1x is genuinely good. Without the number, the offer is unquantifiable.
Who it suits
It suits a player who weighs track record above promotion size, wants a licence that can actually be looked up in a public register, and values a clean complaint history more than a big welcome figure. The catalogue is large enough that you are unlikely to run out of games, and the sportsbook means one balance instead of two.
Look elsewhere if you need the certainty of a licence in force rather than one under assessment, or if you want the wagering terms published up front rather than obtained by asking. And before you deposit anywhere, set your limits first: our page on responsible gambling explains why self-exclusion at a crypto casino does not work the way it does at a licensed bookmaker.
