BitStarz has been running since 2014 and it is the only casino in our comparison where every licensing claim we checked matched on the first attempt, in all three places we looked. That sounds like a low bar. It is not: most of this industry fails it.
The licence checks out, and it is not in renewal
BitStarz's own terms state that it is "licensed and regulated by the Curaçao Gaming Authority (license no OGL/2024/165/0185)", operated by Gareton B.V., registration number 160656, registered in Curaçao.
We checked that against the regulator's own licence register, the PDF the Curaçao Gaming Authority publishes and last updated on 6 August 2026. The entry matches exactly — same licence number, same company, same registration number — and its status is indefinite. That last word matters more than it looks. Several well-known crypto casinos appear in the same register with licences that expired months ago and a status of "assessment in progress". BitStarz does not.
Complaints: 193 processed, 1 unresolved
The independent database at Casino.guru rates BitStarz's Safety Index 9.8 out of 10, the highest figure we recorded across the whole market. Its complaint record is 42 resolved, 147 rejected and 1 unresolved out of 193 in total.
A high rejection count is not a red flag by itself — most rejected complaints are players who broke a rule they did not read, or who stopped replying. What matters is the unresolved column, because that is where a casino that simply stops answering ends up. One out of 193, over twelve years, is the strongest payout record in this comparison.
Games and coins
Casino.guru counts 79 game providers, and the platform underneath is SOFTSWISS. You get the full spread: slots, live dealer tables, blackjack, roulette and jackpot games.
One honest caveat about the "crypto casino" label: BitStarz is a hybrid. It takes cards and bank transfers alongside Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT, and the interface is built around currency accounts rather than wallets. If you want a site where crypto is the only rail and no fiat exists, this is not it — that is a design difference, not a defect, but it changes who it suits.
The bonus, and the number we are not printing
BitStarz advertises a multi-part welcome package. We are not quoting the headline figure, because the wagering requirement is not published next to it, and the requirement is the part that decides whether an offer is worth taking. Get the multiplier confirmed in support chat before you deposit for a bonus.
Why 9.2 and not 9.8
The independent index is 9.8. We scored 9.2, and the gap is deliberate: the wagering terms are not published up front, and the product is fiat-first, which for a site in a crypto comparison is a real qualification rather than a flaw. Everything else here is as clean as this market gets.
Whatever you choose, set your limits before your first deposit rather than after. Our page on responsible gambling explains why self-exclusion at a crypto casino does not work the way it does at a licensed bookmaker.
