Minesweeper – BGaming

You know this board from a Windows desktop. The difference is that here you decide when to stop, and that decision is the entire game.

How it works

A grid of tiles, some hiding mines. Every safe tile you open raises your multiplier. Open a mine and the round ends with nothing. At any point you can cash out and keep what you have built.

So it is not about finding the mines. There is no clue to read and no skill in choosing which tile — they are identical to you. The skill, if there is any, is in stopping.

Is it rigged?

The mine positions are set when the round starts, not when you click. That is the distinction people worry about, and it is the right thing to worry about: a game that decided where the mine was after you picked could take your money whenever it liked.

At a provably fair casino you can prove it did not. You get a hashed seed before the round and the raw seed after it, and recomputing the board tells you whether the layout was fixed in advance. Do it once on a small stake — it takes a minute and it settles the question permanently for that site.

The numbers

BGaming publishes 98.4% RTP and a maximum of x15.11. Read them together, because they explain each other: a very high return with a modest ceiling means money comes back in small, frequent amounts rather than rare large ones. Volatility is rated low, and the ceiling confirms it.

This is the opposite of a jackpot slot. You will not double your balance in one round here. You also will not watch it evaporate in twenty.

Demo or real money

The demo is genuinely useful in this game, and not for the reason people expect. It is not there to teach you the rules — there is one rule. It is there to let you practise cashing out, which is the only muscle this game trains.

Set a target multiplier, hit it ten times in the demo, and see whether you can actually stop. If you cannot do it with fake money, real money will not improve your discipline.

Does strategy do anything?

Choosing tiles: no. Choosing the number of mines: yes, but not in the way people hope. More mines makes each tile pay more and each run shorter; the RTP stays at 98.4% either way. You are selecting variance, not value.

The one decision with real consequences is the exit. Pick the multiplier before you start clicking and take it, at least sometimes — otherwise the game makes that decision for you eventually, and it will not be the one you wanted.
