One zero instead of two. That single pocket is worth 2.56 percentage points of return, and it is the only thing separating European roulette from the American version sitting next to it in the same lobby.

The number, and where it comes from

Evoplay publishes no RTP for this title and does not need to: in a table game the rules are the return. On a 37-pocket wheel a straight-up number pays 35:1 against true odds of 36:1, and that missing unit is the entire edge. The figure holds for any fairly run single-zero wheel, whoever built it — BGaming’s version publishes exactly 97.3%, which confirms the arithmetic rather than adding to it.

Every bet costs the same — with one exception

Red, black, a single number, a corner, a column: all of them carry the same 2.70%. Changing bet type changes your variance, never your expected cost. The exception is la partage, a rule on some tables that returns half your even-money stake when the ball lands on zero — it halves the edge on red/black, odd/even and high/low to 1.35%, making those the cheapest bets available anywhere in the game.

Is it rigged?

The pocket is chosen the moment betting closes; the wheel animation is playback. The generator is tested by independent laboratories before Evoplay can supply an operator.

Why systems fail

The martingale, the Fibonacci, the d’Alembert: every one of them rearranges when you lose without touching how much. The wheel has no memory, so after seven reds the eighth spin is exactly as likely to be red — betting black because it is due is the gambler’s fallacy, and it has emptied more accounts than any other idea in gambling.
